IGL Fuels Home Cooking For Sprinter Antonio Watson
First Delivery: Antonio Watson (left) receives vouchers for free cooking gas for 2 years from Peter Graham, Managing Director, IGL following the first delivery to his home.
Kingston, Jamaica, Nov. 9, 2023 – He romped home with the 400m Men’s gold medal at the World Athletics Championship in Budapest last August, bringing honour to Jamaica and instilling pride among Jamaicans worldwide. Off the track Antonio Watson applies the same intensity to preparing his own meals.
The 22 year-old, claims proficiency in cooking boiled dumplings, yam and bananas and curried chicken and welcomes IGL’s gift of free cooking gas for the next two years. Recognizing the impact Antonio’s mother had on him, the offer by IGL was also offered to her.
“It feels great”, he said as the IGL truck pulled up in front of his home to make the delivery.
IGL Managing Director, Peter Graham, said that “like all Jamaica we were elated at Antonio’s performance in Budapest. We’ve been tracking his progress and commend his hard work and dedication to excellence. This commitment from IGL of free cooking has for two years to both Antonio and his Mom, is our way of saying thanks to him on behalf of Jamaica. You have our unwavering support and look forward to great performances in Paris in 2024 and Tokyo in 2025″
