Eleanor Brown
Director since 2015, Eleanor Brown is a professor of law at Penn State Law, a professor of International Affairs in the School of International Affairs (SIA) and a senior scientist in the Rock Ethics Institute of the Pennsylvania State University. Prior to becoming an academic, she was an Executive Vice President at Caribbean Basin Investors Limited. Ms. Brown was previously a chair of the Jamaica Trade Board and also served on the CARICOM Commission. She has served on the boards of several publicly traded Caribbean companies including JPSCo, Utech, Caribiz, and was a member of the Sugar Enterprise Team. A leading scholar of property, migration, emerging markets, globalization and development; Brown has been published in a number of internationally recognized journals. Ms. Brown is a member of the board of directors of the Association for Law, Property and Society, the Conference Planning Committee for the Immigration Law Professors Association, and the Fellowship Committee for the Association of University Women. Ms. Brown holds a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from Brown University and a master’s degree in politics from Oxford University (Balliol College), where she was a Rhodes Scholar. 2003 – 2009
